The process of touching and being touched engages all aspects of our being – physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual. We can no longer separate ourselves from our clients as an object needing fixing, but rather engage with them in a relational field where thoughts, feelings, and personal history of client and therapist are intermingling (intersubjectivity). Who we are is expressed as a resonance that can be felt by others within this relational field – they are feeling us as we are feeling them.
This introductory workshop weaves together the perspectives of Somatic Experiencing®, polyvagal theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and somatic psychology in providing us with a foundation for a “hands-on” experiential investigation into resolving trauma through the Structural Integration paradigm.
